Strengthening Law Enforcement for Women and Children’s Safety
AFT was invited by the Tamil Nadu Police Academy (Training Directorate) to conduct specialized training sessions for women police personnel on Crimes Against Women and Children (CAWC) and Vishaka Committee Guidelines.
The first phase of training empowered nearly 100 officers, equipping them with knowledge, skills, and sensitivity to address crimes against women and children effectively. This session emphasized the importance of strengthening law enforcement to build a safer and better future for women and children.
Follow-up training for the next batch of women officers, focusing on Vishaka Committee Guidelines. The session highlighted that awareness is the first step towards change, and training transforms that awareness into action. By imparting a clear understanding of laws, reporting procedures, and victim-centred approaches, these trainings are shaping a law enforcement force that is prepared, sensitive, and justice-driven.
Every trained police personnel becomes a stronger shield for women’s rights, ensuring safer workplaces and communities. AFT is committed to continuing its collaboration in this crucial mission of protection, justice, and empowerment.
In the first phase of our transformation initiative, we reached 5 villages to uplift the Irular community. Here’s how we are making a difference:👗 Distributed 250 brand-new clothing sets—restoring dignity to those receiving their first new outfit in over three years.🍚 Provided monthly provisions to 50 families, ensuring essential sustenance and stability.🍪 Shared snacks, spreading happiness and warmth to women, children, and men alike. This initiative marks the beginning of a broader mission. Future phases will extend support to 10 additional villages and establish a Community Mentoring Center to empower the Irular community through education, guidance, and sustainable opportunities. Together, we can create lasting change.
Celebrated International Children’s Day with vibrant and joyful activities for children in villages across Trichy and Perambalur districts. Alongside the celebrations, we conducted community assessments and focused group discussions with parents, teachers, and community leaders. These efforts aimed to identify gaps in resources and opportunities to ensure the holistic development of every child.
Together, let’s build a brighter future for our children! 🌟
AF celebrated Children’s Day on 14th Nov at Dr. Kalam Global School with a meaningful child protection awareness campaign. Highlighting the significance of the POCSO Act, 2012, we screened an educational film to help students understand safety tips and how to seek help if needed. With ongoing sessions planned for parents and teachers, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive community for every child.
“As per the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (RTE Act), every child has the right to education.
